Nick supports Sykes Fairbairn as an associate to help transfer the powerful lessons learned from leading teams in extreme situations to the business world. He is a former Royal Marines officer with 20 years experience, a Mountain Instructor (MIA), qualified teacher and business consultant.

During Nick’s military service he served on operations throughout the world including Northern Ireland, Bosnia and Afghanistan and finished his military career in charge of the Commando Training Centre at Lympstone in Devon.

Nick has 16 years experience as a mountaineering instructor and has worked as a military skiing and climbing instructor throughout UK and Europe. He has led climbing teams to the Himalayas and Alaska. In 2003 he organised & led a very successful expedition to Mount Everest; 2 members of the team reached the summit & the remainder carried out a remarkable high altitude rescue saving the lives of 2 injured climbers.

Since leaving the Forces Nick has qualified as a teacher and decided to use his considerable management and leadership experience to seek new challenges in the world of management training and coaching. Nick has worked as a consultant and as a coach in banking, beverages, motor trade, telecoms, utilities and further education sectors. He has also given numerous presentations worldwide on his leadership experiences.
